Approdo

About Approdo

Approdo is a free self-help tool for people moving to Italy. Italian bureaucracy is a maze of deadlines, offices and forms that changes with your nationality, visa and city. Approdo turns it into a clear, personalized checklist and pre-fills the official forms from your details, so you know exactly what to do and in what order.

How we keep it accurate

Every step in Approdo is built from official Italian sources — the Agenzia delle Entrate, the Polizia di Stato and Portale Immigrazione, ANPR, the Ministero della Salute and the Ministero degli Esteri, among others. We link to the primary source on each step so you can verify it yourself.

Our knowledge base is version-controlled: every rule, deadline and document list is tracked and reviewed when it changes. When a requirement varies by case or we cannot confirm a detail, we say so plainly rather than guessing. We would rather tell you "check this with the consulate" than give you a confident wrong answer.

What Approdo is not

Approdo provides information, not legal or tax advice. Some steps in Italy can only be handled by a qualified professional (for example a lawyer, commercialista, CAF or patronato). Where that is the case, we say so and point you to the right kind of help. We never file anything on your behalf.

Why we built it

The information exists, but it is scattered across dozens of government pages, out of date on forums, and rarely written for someone doing it for the first time. Approdo puts the correct, current path in one place, in plain language, ordered the way you actually need to do it.
